Reviewing the “r” sound

In preschool, we’re teaching the boys (S and his peers, not S and H) to read because they’re interested and ready. We’re using “Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons” because it helps us be consistent since I teach Tuesday/Thursday and another mother teaches Monday/Wednesday. So far, the boys are doing well.

S’s Restaurant

This is S’s pretend restaurant that he set up. You can see H’s addition of Goldfish Cracker soup on the right. Yummy!

September 4

R and the boys having fun in the pool

R and the boys spent most of the last day in the pool. The boys had a great time with daddy, but daddy ended up with a killer sunburn the next week.

September 3

H and K  (and S if you look closely) at Waimea Canyon

We tried to have a picnic at Waimea Canyon, but it was raining with limited visibility when we arrived, so we ate in the car. We drove on to a small “museum” in the park and by the time we were ready to head home, the clouds began to break up. We took another chance and enjoyed some great views.

September 2

Sliding!

While on Kaua’i we found a great playground, almost as nice as the one we found last year on the Big Island. I am now wondering why I don’t know of a similar playground on our own island.

September 1

Leaving on a jet plane

On Labor Day we took a trip to Kaua’i to visit Aunt Judy and Uncle Kent who were vacationing there at a resort.

August 31

S and his creation

On Monday nights, we usually home “Family Home Evening”, but on this Sunday night, S requested to do “S_____ Home Evening”. We obliged him and built churches out of blocks under his direction.

August 30

Keyboard Keys

I actually found time to practice an instrument today. (I do not actually know how to play any instruments, but I am trying to learn.)

August 29

We had a free code from Redbox and decided to watch a few movies. We watched Spiderman and a really terrible kids movie that was so bad I can’t remember the name; I have blocked it from my memory. My apologies in advance if you mistakenly check it out.
