About Our Joyful Journeys

I came up with the name “Our Joyful Journeys” partially because it sounded like a good name for a pre-school and I’ve been spending the past several months trying to organize a pre-school co-op for my oldest son.  I hope that “Our Joyful Journeys” will be a place to record some of my experiences with my family and especially my children.

A Little Bit More About Me

I am primarily a stay at home mom, but I am also a professional educator, who occasionally teaches adjunct at a local university.  After college, I spent 2 years with Teach for America in Baltimore, Maryland working as an 8th grade science teacher.  When I left Baltimore, I taught high school biology for 4 years before returning to graduate school to study education policy and (later) instructional technology.  I love learning, I always have and I hope to inspire my children to love learning as well.
