@Kent Dickinson: I got a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200. I still have my Nikon D40 and may someday upgrade to a nicer Nikon, but for type of shots I usually take these days, the Panasonic DMC-FZ200 seemed like a better use of money. It doesn’t have removable lenses, but the built-in zoom lens has a f/2.8 maximum aperture and a 25-600mm range. I’m glad I got it, but there sure are a lot of menus to figure out!
That sounds like a pretty good camera. I still have my d40. I just bought a 50mm prime lens, but I’m not good at it yet. I need more focus zones than the three the d40 has. I’ll be excited to see your new photos with this camera.
Did you stay with a Nikon?

I still have my D40 as well. I was thinking about getting the 50 mm prime lens, what kind of pictures have you been taking recently?
I mainly take pictures of things outside and people at ward activities. I actually returned my 50mm and got the 35mm instead. So far I like it better.
